Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are you a Licensed Bakery?
Yes. I am fully licensed and insured.
2. What exactly is fondant?
Fondant is a sugar dough that is rolled out and placed over the iced cake for an incredibly smooth finish. My fondant is made from scratch and can be flavored with flavorings such as almond, french vanilla, rum, mint, etc.
3. Can I get a price quote via email?
We do not give out prices over the internet. We like to meet with you in person to discuss your needs financially and creatively. We will be glad to answer your questions over the phone at 724-439-1591 or 724-984-0499.
4. Is a deposit required?
Yes, a Nonrefundable $50.00 deposit reserves your wedding date. We do this to protect you and us since we limit the amount of cakes we will do per day.
5. How far in advance should I reserve my date?
Remember, it’s never too early to reserve your date, but it could be too late!
On average, we accept 3 wedding cake orders per weekend. When we reach 3 orders, we turn away any additional requests. We have instituted this rule to control the quality of our wedding cakes.
Because we cannot project when a particular weekend will be completely reserved, we suggest reserving your date as soon as you have made a decision to use Myers Creative Cakes.
6. Can you create cakes from a picture?
You are not limited to the cakes viewed on our website; we can duplicate almost any cake or create your custom cake.
7. How do I reserve my wedding date?
$50.00 nonrefundable deposit.
8. Can I have different tiers of my cake different flavors?
Flavors for the filling, frosting, and cake can be mixed and matched to your
specifications. It is suggested that you limit your cake flavors to just two. It becomes very hectic during the reception trying to serve a variety of flavors, and some guests often want to try the different flavors, in which case you may end up short
9. Do you charge any additional fees for filling or multiple cake flavors?
No
10. Is it safe to place fresh flowers on a cake?
Not all flowers are safe to place on a cake. Speak with your florist about safety
concerns. Flowers that have been sprayed with pesticides should not be placed on your cake. Some flowers are toxic for people and their juices may leach into your cake and possibly make people sick. Your florist will know which flowers are toxic for people and should not be placed on a cake. Gum paste flowers are a safe alternative to toxic flowers.
11. Do you schedule evening and weekend appointments?
Yes, we do our best to work with your schedule.
12. What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and checks.
Please Note: Specialty cakes are in high demand, and we often book a year in advance, the availability of your date is not guaranteed until you have reserved your date with a deposit.
Think it's too late to get your date, call or e-mail, we may still have your day open.
